West Cork Elm Dresser
Bespoke Welsh DresserThe history of this piece is connected to West Cork in more ways than one. The timber of which the piece is made was planted near Schull in 1850 by Thomas Nash Hicks, a retired army officer, and while the trees were peacefully increasing in girth the design elements which are used to make the dresser more pleasing to the eye were evolving in the surrounding cottages at the hands of local craftsmen.
The Ash back, while matching the grain pattern of the Elm has a lighter colour to provide depth.
The dimensions are 7’2″ by 48″ by 20″
